The Rivercrest Lady Rebels kept pace with district leader Como-Pickton with wins in their three games after falling against the Lady Eagles back on March 28.
After the loss, the Lady Rebels hosted Alba-Golden and held off a game Lady Panther squad in extra innings, 5-4. Rivercrest won in the eighth when, after going into their half of the inning down, 4-3, Elizabeth Langehennig and Claire Grider hit back to back doubles, with Grider bringing home Langehenning to tie the game. The next batter, Abby Ross, reached on an error, allowing Grider to score the game winning run.
Kate Ross, Avery Martin, Addison Martin and Hallie Guest all finished with two hits on the night. Rivercrest as a team hit five doubles off the bats of Grider, Langehennig, Guest, Addison Martin and Kate Ross. Vickie Torres finished with two RBIs from the plate and struck out 10 from the mound in the complete game performance.
The Lady Rebels traveled to Detroit where Torres controlled the game from the mound, holding the Lady Eagles to just one hit and striking out 17 batters in a 3-1 win.
Torres, Avery Martin, Addison Martin and Logan Huddleston all finished with two hits. Addison Martin scored twice and Avery Martin scored once.
Thursday, the Lady Rebels got all the runs they needed in the first inning and used Torres’ hot hand to roll to a 5-0 victory against Fruitvale.
Torres pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Grider finished with a triple and an RBI. Addison Martin had two hits and two RBIs and Madison Vaughan added two RBIs of her own. Langehennig, Huddleston, Kate Ross, Avery Martin and Addison Martin all scored for Rivercrest.
The Lady Rebels took on Como-Pickton for a share of first in district Tuesday and will step outside of district to take on Cooper Friday.
