Lady Bulldogs earn program’s first season sweep with win at Maud

Last Friday, The Harts Bluff Lady Bulldogs pulled off another first.

The Lady Bulldogs won on the road at Maud, picking up the program’s first season sweep of a district opponent. Harts Bluff won over the Lady Cardinals at home back on March 7, 19-9.

Tuesday’s meeting ended even more emphatically as the Lady Bulldogs won in three innings, 22-2. The Lady Bulldogs scored eight times in the first and third innings and six times in the second.

Lanyce Fulmore led Harts Bluff from the plate, finishing 3-3 with a triple, four RBIs and three runs scored. Madison Whorton went 2-3 with a double, three RBIs and scored twice. Alex Ochoa finished 2-2 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Peyton Cameron got it done at the plate and on the mound. The freshman finished with three RBIs and scored twice from the plate and allowed just two hits and struck out five on the mound.

Perla Solorio and Kylie Cancino each added two RBIs. Perla Solorio and Kaitlyn Blake both scored three times while Jadyn Bragg, Estefania Valdez, Avilyn Wilson and Anay Solorio all crossed home plate twice.

Unfortunately, the Lady Bulldogs fell Tuesday in their home game against Linden-Kildare as the Lady Tigers won, 15-0.

Fulmore, Ochoa and Anay Solorio finished with Harts Bluff ’s hits on the night. Blake had a stolen base. Cameron struck out four batters on the night.

The Lady Bulldogs played a makeup game Monday at Harleton after their previous date was rained out and hosted McLeod Tuesday. Harts Bluff will travel to James Bowie Friday.
