Funeral service for Dorothy Barrier, 95, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Sheppard Street Church of Christ. Burial in Reynolds Cemetery, Daingerfield, under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. She died January 4, 2023.
Dorothy was born in Titus County on April 16, 1927 to Ed and Eria Rockwell.
She was a member of Sheppard Street Church of Christ. She loved working in her yard. She was a licensed beautician and retired from the Mt. Pleasant Independent School District after 40 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin Barrier, four brothers, two sisters.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law Marilyn and Wright Johnson Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; son Louie Harper of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Charity Jeffery and her husband Bill of Mt. Pleasant; Justin Johnson and his fiancé Erica of San Antonio, Texas, Bernard Harper, Joshua Harper, Sylvia Harper all of Dallas; great grandchildren Brylen Jeffery, Xavier Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson and Levi Johnson; brother Richard James Rockwell, sister Ollie Mae Eaton both of Mt. Pleasant; host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends.
