Tony Leo Anschutz, age 80, of Sugarhill, Texas passed away on July 14, 2022. He was born December 2, 1941 in Sugarhill to Warren and Gladys Anschutz.
Tony started his work career in the Talco oil field, until he was drafted in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska. He served from 1963-65. He returned to the oilfield for several years, then began working for TXU from 1976 until his retirement in 1999.
Tony is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jo; son Marc and Cynthia Anschutz, daughter Kelly and Ricky Kennedy; grandchildren Colby and Allyson Chitsey, Brady and Lauren Kennedy, Ashlyn and Paden Lum, Aly, Lindsey, and Brantley Anschutz. Great-grandchildren Ian Chitsey, Beau and Casey Kennedy, Rilyn and Paisley Lum. He is also survived by sisters Christelle and Pete McGee and Sandy and Ron McLemore, and a brother Hal and Kathy Anschutz, Sister in-law Joyce Franks and brother in-law Jimmy Franks. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Anthony McGee and a brother in-law Jerry Franks.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. A service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at DeShields Cemetery.
