Jimmy Dewayne Via, 60, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, in Mount Pleasant. He was born on November 7, 1961, in Odessa, Texas, to James R. Via and Jerry Ann Via.
Jimmy was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha while attending East Texas State University. He spent his adult life working as a supervisor in the oil fields. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, James R.

Left to cherish Jimmy’s memory are his loving wife, Lisa Via of Mount Pleasant, Texas; his mother, Jerry Ann Via of Talco, Texas; son, E. J. Via of Mount Pleasant, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law: Brandi & Seth Lee and Amber and Hayden Fox all of Mount Pleasant, Texas; grandchildren: Owen Fox, Averie Fox, and Tripp Lee; sisters and brother-in-law, Judy McCuller and Jackie & Bradley Moore of Talco, Texas; as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Talco Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jimmy’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, Rivercrest Education Foundation, or Cypress Basin Hospice.
