Margie Lee Thomas

Margie Lee Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, February 27, at the age of 88. She was born in Mt. Pleasant to James Elmer “Tot” Tinker and Blanche Andrews Tinker on May 24, 1933. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband P.A. Thomas, and her sisters Lou Bolling and Bobbye Holden.

Margie was a lifelong housewife, active in the Titus County Democratic Party, and “team mother” for many years to the Flying Queens fast-pitch softball team that was coached by P.A. She enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, arts and crafts, and doing puzzles.

She is survived by her sister Juanita Green of Richardson; son Rusty Thomas and wife Gloria “Squeaky” of Rockdale; grandchildren Teri Jenkins and husband Kevin, Cody Thomas of Rockdale, Brad Thomas and wife Pamela of Rockdale, and Ryan Thomas and wife Samantha of Hutto; and by great-grandchildren Kelsey, Kaeley, Kenna, Katie, and Karaline Jenkins of Rockdale, Dylan Thomas of Houston, Tyler and Ally Thomas of Rockdale, and Jocelyn and Ian Thomas of Hutto.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 2 pm with service following at 3 pm at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
