The CHAAMP Hawks Varsity boys handled business against the Harts Bluff Bulldogs Tuesday night, winning the game by a 25 point margin, 64-39. Playing their final home game of the regular season, the Hawks started the contest slowly, down 11-6 at the end of the first quarter. The team began to turn their fortunes around in the second quarter, but at halftime CHAAMP only led by one point, 23-22. In the second half the Hawks pulled away, outscoring the Bulldogs 41- 17 in the half and 21-3 in the fourth quarter on their way to a Senior Night victory.
John Luke Angier led the way for the Hawks, with an impressive 30 point, seven rebound, and two assist performance. Point guard John Hall finished with 13 points, as well as four steals and four assists. Starters C.J. Horton and Levi Gaertner each added five points. Horton also snagged five rebounds and blocked five shots, and David Tagg grabbed six boards.
The Hawks will travel to Longview this Saturday to play in the inaugural NTAA District Basketball Tournament.
