James Roy Key passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the age of 93. He was born on December 20, 1928 near Cookville, Texas to James K. (Jim) Key and Emma Lee Norman Key. Roy was the youngest of 10 children.
He married the love of his life, Mildred Faye King on September 9, 1950. They were blessed with one son, Danny Roy Key and one daughter, Cynthia Faye Key. They were apart for many years & remarried September 9, 2004.
He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Danny & Linda Key; daughter, Cynthia Key Warren; 3 grandchildren, Jim Key, Marlea & Jacob McKelvey, Savannah & Matthew Terrell; 4 precious great-grandchildren, Kammie Terrell, John Wyatt Terrell, Madison McKelvey & Mark McKelvey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and precious friends.
For many years, he worked in building material sales. In 1973, he and R.B Lewellen began a partnership and formed Key-Lewellen Real Estate. He was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Faye Key; his parents, his brothers Ed, Jesse, Hub, Melvin and E.W. Key; his sisters, Ethel VanZandt, Deelia Andrews, Murlie Bynum and Lena Easley.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 2:30 PM.
