Area state parks plan First Day Hikes

First Day Hikes are an annual tradition, led by state parks to encourage people to get outdoors.

Parks are participating throughout the nation, and area state parks, Bob Sandlin State Park and Daingerfield State Park are joining in on the fun.

Daingerfield

The hike will begin at the day-use area at the Main Trail Head at 10 a.m. Jan. 1. The hike will be on the Rustling Leaves Trail, a 2.4 mile trail around Lake Daingerfield.

Bob Sandlin

Hikers can meet at the Lakeview Loop Trailhead at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Jan. 1.

The hikes will each last about 45 minutes.

For both parks, entrance fees are $4 per adult (aged 13 and over). 12 years and younger can enter for free.
