Marvin Clifford Roesler

Marvin Clifford Roesler, 83, of Mount Pleasant, Texas, passed away on December 24, 2021 after living a long and giving life full of family and friends.

Marvin was born on September 18,1938 to Clifford and Arlene Roesler in Winneshiek, Iowa. After graduating from Riceville High School in 1957, Marvin joined the Army and served in Okinawa, Japan and Thailand. After returning from service, shortly Marvin put himself through 3 years of mechanic school. He met his wife Janice Roesler in Kasson, Minnesota. They were later married in Concord, Minnesota in 1965. In 1981, after having three children (Karen Roesler Nelson, Michael Roesler and Wesley Roesler.) Marvin and Janice Roesler moved their family from Minnesota to Texas. In Texas, Marvin went on to work for Pilgrims Pride Corporation for 20 years until he retired in 2001. After retiring, Marvin volunteered at Titus County Cares twice a week until he was recently hospitalized.

Marvin was a member of Tennison United Methodist Church for 35 years. He was a very giving man, he lived to help others. Not only did he volunteer for Titus County Cares, he also helped build wheelchairs ramps with Tennison United Methodist Church until he was no longer physically able, Marvin and Jan have continued through the years to go on mission trips for United Methodist Nomads-help in disaster rebuilds and assistance to others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Arlene Roesler; his brother Duane Roesler; his son Michael Roesler; his son-in-law, William (Billy) Nelson; and his sister-in-law, Joann Petersen. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Derby Roesler; daughter, Karen Roesler Nelson; son, Wesley and Tracy Roesler; daughter-in-law, Heather Breit Roesler; brother, Kevin Roesler; grandchildren, DeeAnn and Arron Roesler, Meghan and David Rosewell, Madison Roesler, Garrett Roesler, Shelby Roesler and Kaelah Roesler; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and foster children; brother-in-law, Daryl Derby and wife Sharon; brother-in-law, Terry Petersen.

A memorial service for Marvin Roesler will be held on Friday, December 31,2021 at 2:00 PM at Tennison Memorial United Methodist Church with a burial to follow at Macon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Texas. A visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to service.
