Judith Lynn Barry went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 7, 2021, after years of battling Parkinsons. She was born February 24, 1939, in Atlanta, TX to Troy Baker and Bernice (O’Kelly) Baker.

She graduated from Queen City High School and also from North Texas University with a degree in business education. She began teaching at Roosevelt High School in St. Louis while her husband was attending Washington University’s dental school. She resumed teaching at Mt. Pleasant High School for a few years before staying home to raise their two boys after her husband had completed a tour in the Air Force.

When her sons enrolled in college, she began taking art classes at NTCC with Jo Taylor. The class lasted 13 years. She went on to become a signature member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society in Dallas and won awards there and at other competitions. She was a member of Tennison Memorial UMC for over 6 decades and served in many areas including women’s and children’s activities and most recently the Tennison Endowment Fund. She loved music and shared her talents by being the organist in Queen City during high school as well as the pianist for the Janet Martin Sunday School class at Tennison Memorial UMC. Judith is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Charles Barry; sons Jon and wife Carolyn with their 3 children, Mark and wife Celina with their 2 children; brother Tom Baker and wife Sherry; brothers-in-law Dean and wife LaCrecia, Dr. Brian and wife Sara; nieces and nephews.
