Juanita H. Allen peacefully passed away at Heritage Park Village Senior Living Community in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on June 27th, 2021 at the age of 81. Opal Juanita Hammett Allen was born in Greenwood, Louisiana on March 10th, 1940 to Roger Hughes Hammett and Leonabelle Wilkerson. She married James L. Allen. Sr. on April 27, 1973 and they shared 43 years of marriage before his death on September 9, 2016. In addition to her husband, parents and several siblings, Juanita was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amy Vesta Langford Nash.
Juanita is survived by her daughters, Lisa Harrison with husband, Billy Mack, and Lori Fuller with husband Scott; siblings, Ronnie Hammett of Union Grove, Dorothy Scott of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Roger Hammett of Greenwood, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jami Werth, John Langford and Shelby Hicks; great-grandchildren, Peyton Colston, Kaiton Garner, Brennan Garner, Ashtyn Werth, Amy Kait Langford & Wrenley Rae Hicks; and great-great granddaughter, Leighton Rose Archer.
We would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Heritage Park for the wonderful care of our mother for the last 15 months as well as to Chambers Hospice for the special care preparing her for her eternal home in her last days with us on earth.
