Jerry Zane “Popp-ee” Rosewell passed from this life May 17, 2021 at the age of 85 in his home in the Lone Star Community North of Cookville, Texas. He was surrounded by his wife of 65 years, his 2 children, & their spouses.
Jerry was born June 7, 1935 to Leon & Winnie Clarice (Causey) Rosewell in Titus County, Texas.
Jerry was the owner, along with his wife Katie, of Rosewell Feed & Fertilizer in Omaha, TX for 31 years. He retired in January of 1999 at which time he went home to do the things he loved which included: Raising cattle; Working with tractors & Driving his bulldozer. He was able to enjoy 21 years of his retirement before he became ill.
Jerry attended the Church of Christ at Cookville at Cookville along with his family. He was a Christian man who loved the Lord. He was a loving husband & father that led by example & taught his children & grandchildren the value of hard work & honesty.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Katie (Brents) Rosewell; a son & daughter-in-law, Jerry Ray & Hollye Rosewell; a daughter & son-in-law, Lahonda & Darrell Robertson; 5 grandchildren & their spouses: Justin & Lindsey Rosewell of Liberty Hill, Zane & Carly Robertson of Mt. Pleasant, Chance & Ashley Rosewell of Franklin, Allana & Keith Sager of Beaumont, & Katelyn Rosewell of Franklin; 5 great grandchildren: Blake, Alayna, Harley, Declan & Mackenzie; a sister, Betty Phillips of Mt. Pleasant; a sister-in-law, Mary Sue Fulce of Cookville; & numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon & Winnie Clarice; 3 brothers: Bobby Leon, Billy Ray & Roy Mack; & 1 sister: Dorothy.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2022 at the Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home. A service was held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Bates Cooper Sloan Chapel with interment to follow at the Lone Star cemetery.
