The Extension Service will host a Beef Cattle Program on Friday, May 7 from 8 AM to 2 PM at the Titus County Extension Office located at 1708 Industrial Rd in Mount Pleasant, TX. The cost for registration will be $20 and covers topics such as an update from Texas Animal Health Commission, Product updates from animal health representatives and maximizing your calf crop. A catered meal will be served and is included in the registration fee. The cost is $10 per session. East New Hope Cemetery Hope Cemetery Decoration Day will be held this year on May 8. This will be on the second Saturday in May instead of the first as in the past. In an effort to minimize contact between individuals and maintain social distancing as much as possible, a barbeque lunch will be served beginning at noon in the church hall, followed by a short business meeting. A love offering will be taken to offset the cost of the lunch. For those who will be unable to attend, donations may be mailed to East New Hope Cemetery Foundation at PO Box 181, Mount Pleasant, Texas 75455.
Farmers Academy Cemetery decoration will be Saturday, May 8th. Contributions may be mailed to Gloria Holt at 500 Redfearn Court, Mount Pleasant, TX 75455.

The community is invited to the First Annual Decoration Day at Cortznes Cemetery on Sunday, May 9 at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be conducted by local clergy including Dr. Tony Rundles, Dr. Kirthell Roberts, Reverend Lonnie Charles Bell and Dr. Tommy S. Smith. City of Mount Pleasant Tracy Craig, Mayor Pro Tem Tim Dale and City Manager Ed Thatcher will also provide comments. Councilmember Jerry Walker, who is coordinating the event, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Please plan to attend this opportunity to honor those no longer with us and connect with your community leaders. The cemetery is located at 408 S O’Tyson Ave, Mt Pleasant, Texas, 75455.

The Caddo Trace Beekeepers Association will be having a talk over “Honey Bee Biology” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday 5/10/21 at the County AgriLife Building prior to their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. The Caddo Trace Beekeepers Association will have its monthly meeting Monday 5/10/21 in the Agri-Life building. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. they will show a video on hive inspections from the Texas Honeybee Education Association.

There will be a Summer Horticulture Series offered beginning May 12th from 10 AM-12 PM at the Titus County Extension Office discussing Viticulture and growing grapes in Northeast Texas. Other topics throughout the Summer Series include Fruit and Nut Trees held on June 9, Water Conservation and Rainwater Harvesting held on July 7, and Fall Gardening held on August 11. The cost is $10 per session. The annual decoration day for Lone Star Cemetery will be held on Sunday, May 16 at the Lone Star Missionary Church. A business meeting will begin at 10:30 am. The annual Decoration Day for Gray Rock Cemetery will be held Sunday, May 16 at 2 o’clock. We will gather at the pavilion for a brief business meeting and a time of fellowship will follow. Gray Rock Cemetery is located on the south service road west of the Titus-Franklin County line. Donations are appreciated for the upkeep of the cemetery. White Oak Springs Cemetery Association will hold this year’s decoration day on Saturday, May 22. The business meeting will be held at 11:00.
