Ronald Lloyd Couch

Ronald Lloyd Couch, age 83, passed away on May 19, 2026 in Mount Pleasant, Texas, the town he called home for over 53 years. He was born on July 28, 1942, in Longview, Texas, Family was one of the greatest joys of Ron’s life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette Couch of Mount Pleasant, Texas; his son, John Couch and wife Elena Martos of Frisco, Texas; his daughter, Rachel Logan and husband Lance of Plano, Texas; and his three grandsons, Luke Logan, Cal Logan and wife Hailey, and Seth Logan and his fiancée, Kate Cox. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Sue and Lloyd Couch and brother Gary Couch.

A lifelong learner, Ron pursued his education with determination and curiosity. He earned a BS degree in Biology from Stephen F. Austin and went on to become one of the first licensed physical therapists in the state of Texas. Later, he completed a MBA degree from Texas A&M, demonstrating his belief that there was always more to learn and discover.

Alongside his career as a physical therapist, Ron and Jeanette built and operated Able Medical Products, serving their community for 37 years.

Faith was central to Ron’s life. In 1983, he and Jeanette joined a small group of families in founding Trinity Baptist Church, where they faithfully worshiped and served. His commitment to his church family reflected his deep devotion to God and to the community he loved.

In retirement, Ron embraced new passions and became both a Master Beekeeper and a Master Gardener, finding both challenge and enjoyment in the crafts.

Ron also had a lifelong love of music. He played the trumpet for decades and found joy in both making music and listening to a wide variety of artists and genres; music remained a constant source of enjoyment.

Ron lived a life marked by humility, kindness, and steadfast character. Whether through his faith, his work, or his devotion to family, Ron blessed all who knew him.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
