Tami Jane Seaton

Tami Jane Seaton, age 64 of Coppell, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, was born September 26, 1960, in Mt.

Pleasant to James Curtis Seaton and Mamie Myrtle Gibson-Seaton. She passed away on October 30, 2024, at Carrollton Regional Medical Center.

Tami grew up on a farm in Mt. Pleasant. She had a horse named “Big Red” that she loved to ride around the farm on or in the grand entry at the local Rodeo. She was in the Tiger Band, played the clarinet, and was a majorette. After graduating with the Class of 1978, Tami attended Texas A&M University and graduated with her MBA. Her career took her to TXU Electric in Mt. Pleasant where she worked in Corporate and Personnel. She later moved to Waco and worked at a power plant there. She decided to make a change in her career, so she went back to school and received her Law Degree. She moved to the Dallas area where she interned with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office, worked as an independent lawyer for a few years, then later hired on with Dallas County as a Defense Attorney in the Adult and Juvenile divisions and other divisions. She always had stories to tell and was a fighter for her clients. Tami retired in 2019 from the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office. She continued to work at other jobs in the Dallas area helping the less fortunate including Legal Aid, assisting people needing help with housing laws. Tami liked to live life to the fullest with many traveling adventures with her daughter and friends to places like Spain, Italy, Ireland, England, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and many other places. She loved to hike, drink a good glass of wine with friends, and attend concerts. Tami is preceded in death by her parents; her furry friend, “CJ”. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Lauren Seaton and her fiancé Frank Kingston who live in the Dallas area; her furry friend, “Mo” and many more family and friends. The family would like to thank all her many friends for visiting, sitting, and loving Tami through this difficult time.
