Funeral Service for David Louis Godbolt, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 30, 2024 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Interment in Searcy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. He died, August 19, 2024.
David was born December 26, 1939 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to David Lorn and Connie (Searcy) Godbolt. David was a member of Mt.
Olive Baptist Church. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1958 and attended Texas College in Tyler. He worked in the Refinery Industry.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Ruth (Brown) Godbolt, sons Richie, Tony, Calvin and David Anthony Godbolt, niece Teresa Gilbert.
He is survived by sons Christopher L. Godbolt of Gardena, CA, Dion L. Godbolt Sr. of Atlanta, GA; daughters Lorraine Godbolt of Desoto, Texas, Vikki Godbolt of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; grandchildren Dion Jr., Tehran, Christopher, Devon, Temetria, and Tiffany Godbolt; seven great grandchildren; sister Joyce (Godbolt) Venters of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
