PTA program welcomes new students

The Northeast Texas Community College Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program held an orientation on Wednesday, July 12 to welcome its new incoming class of 2024. The program has accepted 16 students to begin classes this fall. They come from a variety of backgrounds and from several states.

Cosmetology students volunteer at Ignite Youth Club

The Northeast Texas Community College Cosmetology program recently took a trip to Ignite Youth Club in Mount Pleasant to share their expertise with local kids. The students gave a general hygiene lesson, taught basic hairstyling techniques and nail art.

Texas Tens headed to Nationals in Hot Springs

The Texas Tens are on their way to play at Nationals in Hot Springs after coming off an undefeated weekend of play at the Stars and Stripes Classic DFW. Their championship victory included four extra innings on Sunday which ended with the Tens beating the Texas Dragons 12-10.

East swears into NTCC board

The Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees met for its June meeting on Tuesday, July 11 after the regularly- scheduled June meeting did not achieve a quorum. Titus County Judge Kent Cooper was in attendance to swear in Russell East to the board.

BCG sells pharmacies to Walgreens

Brookshire Grocery Co. (“BGC”) today announced an agreement whereby Walgreens will acquire BGC’s 120 pharmacies in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas, which includes pharmacy customer prescription files and related pharmacy inventory. The vast majority of these locations are being converted to Walgreens pharmacies that will operate inside of BGC’s stores.
