Mount Pleasant Habitat for Humanity has announced the re-launch of their 2021-2022 new home construction program and will be opening the application process with two homeowner partnership application seminars.

Twenty-eight Vivian Fowler Elementary School 4th graders became members of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) as the Fowler Campbell-Edwards-White NEHS Chapter held its 2021-2022 induction ceremony Thursday, October 7. The Vivian Fowler NEHS chapter is named for two former Fowler teachers, Sandra Campbell and Sue Edwards, and one current teacher, Mae Lois White. Campbell and Edwards each taught at the school for 25 years. White is in her 49th year of teaching at Fowler.

Way back in 2012, the regular redbud tree was discussed. Then two years ago the Lavendar twist Weeping redbud was discussed.

Coming up October 18-23 in the library: Preschool Story Time—Tuesday at 11 a.m. Dinner with Friends—Thursday 4-7 p.m.

The Mount Pleasant Youth Football Organization (MPYFO) held its first ever Homecoming festivities last Saturday as the Tiger squads took on the Gregg County Cowboys. Mount Pleasant citizens may see a lot more pink around town during the month of October. October is breast cancer awareness month, and Titus Regional Medical Center is hosting their “Paint the Town Pink” program in an effort to raise awareness.
