Now is the time for the citizens of Mount Pleasant to let their thoughts be heard, as city planners are busy taking input from local residents on the future of the city. As the region continues to urbanize and Mount Pleasant evolves, they are planning for our future by updating the Comprehensive Plan and the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

The Titus County Sheriff ’s Office is currently seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Danny Dwayne Roach, 46. According to TCSO, Roach is wanted on a warrant for revocation of probation/ stalking.

MPHS choir students advance to area auditions

Fourteen Mount Pleasant High School Choir students participated in Pre-Area auditions on December 2 at the Region 8 Service Center in Mount Pleasant. Four have advanced to Area auditions in January: senior Abril Ramirez (2nd chair second soprano), junior Litzy Gonzalez (4th chair second alto), senior Eduardo Joshua Espinoza (4th chair first tenor), and sophomore Clayton Miller (5th chair first tenor).

NTCC announces 2021 Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant winners

The Northeast Texas Community College Foundation is pleased to announce that nine NTCC employees have been awarded funds through the 2021 Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant. The Foundation received 13 outstanding applications. Five were funded by the grant and four were funded by private donations. The total for all funded projects totaled $12,600.
