Locals join 11th annual Carry the Load walk

Body
Carry the Load, a national non-profit honoring military, first responders, veterans, and their families, has come to Mount Pleasant again for their 11th annual awareness walk. The event began with a rally at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center at 10:30 a.m., and the four-mile walk to Forest Lawn Cemetery began at 12:30.

Local pastor and community leader Dr. Francis A. “Tony” Rundles is well known in Mount Pleasant for being the founding pastor of the Greater Hope Church of God in Christ, Secretary for the Titus Regional Medical Center Board of Managers, and for being the first African American Chair of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce.

After the horrific tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, we here at your community newspaper felt like we needed to do something to help another community in need.
