Commissioners discuss fire protection contract

Titus County Commissioners gathered for a special meeting on Oct. 23 and discussed a fire protection contract. A workshop was held by the city council on Oct. 10, and county residents and commissioners were invited to attend. “I attended this meeting,” Commissioner Jimmy Parker said.

Thirteen propositions pass in Nov. 7 election

Unofficial results for the Nov. 7 general election are in, resulting in thirteen propositions passing statewide. Chapel Hill ISD’s bond failed by six votes, with 49.55% voting for the bond, and 50.45% voting against.

The Mount Pleasant High School Cosmetology students kept their annual tradition of providing manicures to residents of the Greenhill Villas of Mount Pleasant. The students visit on Halloween every year dressed in costumes to spread a little cheer and give back to their community.
