Titus County officials are continuing repairs to the Justice Center after the building was significantly damaged during the February snowstorm. Pipes bursting in the freezing temperatures caused water damage on ceilings, floors, supplies and equipment, as well as security issues.
Titus County Sheriff ’s Office is seeking information from anyone with knowledge of the perpetrators who intentionally created a large number of ruts on the grounds of the Lone Star Church and Cemetery located on the 2600 block of County Road 3130. The vandals struck sometime between 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, and the following morning.
At the most recent meeting of the Mount Pleasant City Council, Darleen Durant told the council that Steve Martin, Executive Director of the Mt. Pleasant Housing Authority, had requested that the City approve the reappointment of Kellye Cooper and Martine Cummings to the Housing Authority Board.
The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Academic team competed at the Region 2 AAAAA UIL Academic Meet on April 16-17 with some students competing at Whitehouse High School and others competing online. Overall, MPHS is sending three students to State with three others claiming alternate spots.
An incident that took place on March 24 involving Mount Pleasant Police Department officers and an unidentified male suspect remains under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
