MPHS UIL hosts MP Tiger Winter Invitational

The Mount Pleasant High School UIL Academic team continued its spring season on Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27, hosting the MP Tiger Winter Invitational on the MPHS campus. MPHS placed 2nd overall out of 16 schools represented with three events taking 1st place overall team honors.

Pilgrim Bank promotes Brad Lowry

Senior Chairman Ken Pilgrim, Chairman Lanny Brenner, and the Pilgrim Bank Board of Directors are pleased to announce the promotion of Brad Lowry to President and Chief Lending Officer along with being appointed to the Board of Directors of Pilgrim Bank as an Advisory Director. The promotion was approved by the Board of Directors during their December meeting.

A group of special students, teachers, and PTO parents delivered smiles and some beautifully painted rocks to CancerCare at Titus on Wednesday, Jan. 31 to help bring joy to patients and family members who are dealing daily with the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

The next chapter

Helen Thompson, who has served as the director of the Mount Pleasant Public Library for eleven years, has started a new chapter: retirement. Thompson began working at the library in November of 2012.

Redistricting leads to new opponents for MP, CH, HB

The UIL shuffled the deck for its biannual redistricting Thursday morning, with local teams receiving a few new dance partners for the next two school years. Local districts awaited their new assignments as the UIL made the official announcement at 9 a.m.

Mount Pleasant ISD celebrates School Board Appreciation month

January is School Board Recognition Month and Mount Pleasant ISD is celebrating its trustees for their dedication and commitment to the district and its students. MPISD honored its Board of Trustees at their monthly meeting on Monday, January 22. Student representatives from each campus recognized board members individually with tokens of appreciation from their campuses.
