Several little princesses were delightfully entertained during a Fairy Dust Princess Ball on January 27 and 28. Disney princesses came and visited them at the Civic Center in Mount Pleasant, pouring tea and offering the little ladies cookies and an opportunity to dance with a Disney princess. The ladies were also offered the opportunity to have their hair done up, and go to a “salon” just for them.

The ball was the year’s first fundraiser for CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, a non-profit, volunteer-based organization whose mission is to watch over and speak up for abused and neglected children. Volunteers are appointed by a judge, and are often the only constant person in that child’s life until they are placed in a permanent, safe home.

CASA was founded in 1977 and serves Titus, Camp, and Morris counties. There are more than 1,000 CASA programs in the nation, and 72 CASA programs in the state of Texas alone.
