Cypress Basin Hospice held its annual New Year’s Eve Ball fundraiser Saturday night at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center, including a silent and live auction and a champagne toast at the start of the new year. Organizers said this year’s event raised more than $100,000 for Cypress Basin Hospice. The ball theme was “The Great Gatsby.” Entertainment was provided by Electric Circus, JoJack’s Smokehouse catered the meal and Pilgrim’s sponsored the event.
