Southern Gospel Singing Convention The 92nd annual Texas State Southern Gospel Singing Convention will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Civic Center, 1800 N. Jefferson, Mt. Pleasant, TX 76455 on Friday and Saturday, April 21-22. Friday: Registration 4:30-5:30 pm, Singing 6-8:30 pm, Refreshments 8:30 pm. Saturday: Business Meeting 9 am, Registration 9 am, Singing 10 am - 1 pm, Lunch 1 pm. For more information, call 903-575-4190.

Cookville School Reunion

The Cookville School Reunion for all classes will be Saturday April 22, 2023 at the Cookville Fire Station at 4:00 p.m. We will gather and visit. A short business meeting will be held and a cover dish supper will follow at 6:00 p.m. All alumni are encouraged to attend.

Greater Bibleway Church of Mount Pleasant will hold its third annual throwback musical, “A Glimpse of Heaven,” Saturday April 29 at 6 p.m. The church is located at 503 School St. in Mount Pleasant. The musical is held in cooperation with I Have A Dream Ministry. Guest performers include Pastor Bertrand M. Bailey Jr., Voices of Praise, Branderious and Chozen, Ola Mae Daniels, Cheyenne Kunkle and more.

Third Annual Juneteenth Festival Please join us for the Third Annual Juneteenth Festival, Friday June 16, 2023 at 11:00 am until 7:00 pm at Oaklawn Park in Mount Pleasant, Texas. This is a community wide event with fun activities for all starting at 11:00 am, a variety of vendors will be on hand, along with free hot dogs, snow cones and more provided by The City of Mount Pleasant. The ribbon cutting for The Pilgrims at Oaklawn Center is at 5:00 pm followed by The Dedication Services at 6:00 pm. The Promise Prophecies

April 21 through May 11, the Mount Pleasant Seventh-day Adventist Church will host The Promise Prophecies, with speaker Byron Corbett. The seminar will be held at the church’s auditorium at 302 Lakewood Drive in Mount Pleasant. The series will detail and decipher prophecies of the Bible through the book of Revelations. Vision Clinic

On May 21, the Mount Pleasant Seventh-Day Adventist Church will hold its annual vision clinic from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the church, located at 302 Lakewood Drive. The clinic will offer eye exams and prescription glasses. Limited appointments are available and can be reserved by calling (903) 347-2670. All services are free to pre-registered patients.
