Every child matters. Every family has value. Every job can make an impact. These are the philosophies of the Chapel Hill ISD 2022-2023 leadership team. These instructional leaders have been tirelessly preparing in order to make the 2022-2023 year memorable, focused on student success.
For Daniel Pritchett, his first year as Superintendent is in the books, and things are moving at full speed ahead. His day starts early, with intentional planning, a team meeting and the breakfast of champions-a bold cup of coffee and a strawberry Poptart. His personality is engaging and allows him to easily connect with people across the organization and throughout the community. The 2022-2023 school year begins Pritchett’s 23rd year in education and 16th year as an administrator. Pritchett can be seen all around campus, from visiting student drop off in the morning, to helping coach Little Dribblers, his family has made their home at Chapel Hill. Pritchett and his family feel blessed to be a part of the community and a district that embodies the motto “Where everybody is somebody.”
Three words to describe new Chapel Hill High School Principal Matt Dunn-integrity, innovative and invested. He brings a multi-faceted history of school experience to the job. His professionalism is driven by a sense of servant leadership. When asked about his new role, Dunn replied, “ I feel blessed to lead a wonderful staff, while continuing to build a school of excellence.” Mr. Dunn stated, “Every day our focus will be on student success.” Time to get things Dunn!
When you walk in the principal’s office, what do you think you will find? Typically a desk. Well, not if you are the new junior high principal, Mr. Chris McClure. “My workspace should feel more like the kitchen table. Teachers, students and parents are coming in here to collaborate, communicate and create solutions,” says McClure. Mr. McClure brings a familiarity to the local area, having attended NTCC on a rodeo scholarship. Not only has Mr. McClure competed on the rodeo team collegiately, he also spent time competing professionally. Mr. McClure states, “As the junior high principal, it is my duty to enable our team of educators to help develop knowledgeable leaders of tomorrow.”
Chapel Hill Elementary Principal, Misty Lake, enters her 6th year in educational leadership as she continues to positively impact the educational landscape. Mrs. Lake is a true teacher at heart. She greets you with a warm hug or high-five, uplifting words of encouragement and a smile that lights up the room. She listens to her team. She listens to her teachers. She listens to the families of Chapel Hill. Lake says, “My goal is to continue to provide a positive, supportive climate
