The Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers continued their impressive district run Tuesday night, securing their third consecutive district victory with a decisive 64–38 win over the Lady Lions of Tyler.
Mt. Pleasant set the tone early, jumping out to a 20–3 lead in the first quarter behind strong defensive pressure and efficient shooting. The Lady Tigers followed with a solid second quarter, to take a 33-18 advantage at halftime.
The third quarter proved to be the turning point of the game. Mt. Pleasant erupted for 23 points while holding Tyler to 6, extending the lead to 56–24 and firmly taking control. With the outcome well in hand, the Lady Tigers closed the game with a disciplined fourth quarter sealing the 64–38 final.
Offensively, Melany Morales led all scorers with a standout performance, finishing with 21 points, including an impressive six three-pointers. Her shooting range stretched the defense and fueled several key runs throughout the night. Shannon Hines also made a strong impact, contributing 10 points and providing steady scoring support. Kaylin Brannon added 8 points to the Mt. Pleasant scorebook.
The Lady Tigers’ success came from a balanced effort on both ends of the floor with multiple players contributing and consistent defensive execution limiting Tyler’s scoring opportunities.
With the win, Mt. Pleasant improves to 3–0 in district play, continuing to build momentum as the second half of the district schedule approaches. The Lady Tigers will look to carry their confidence and team-focused approach into their next district contest against the undefeated Lady Tigers of Texas High.
