Outdoors Writer Changes are coming for Texas hunters and saltwater anglers next fall following the recent adoption of several regulation proposals by the Texas Park and Wildlife Commission during its March 28 meeting in Austin. On the saltwater side, the Commission approved the creation of an annual spotted seatrout tag that comes at no extra cost with the purchase of the proper fishing license or saltwater endorsement.

Outdoors Writer It’s springtime in Texas and wildlife managers with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are looking to their customers for some very valuable feedback. Earlier this year, the department sent out big and small game harvest surveys to nearly 200,000 Texas hunting license holders.

MPHS Theatre UIL named alternates in One Act Play competition

The Mount Pleasant High School Theatre department competed in the District 15-5A UIL One Act play competition on Wednesday, March 6 at Texas High in Texarkana. The cast and crew placed 4th, narrowly missing advancing to the bi-district round of competition, their highest placement in One Act in many years.

MPHS golf tees up for district tournament

The Tiger and Lady Tiger golf teams continued their push toward district, playing in three different tournaments recently trying to improve their scores. The Tigers played in the Twisted 54 tournament on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2.
