Texas Titans play up a grade level, win tourney

This past weekend the Texas Titans Travel Softball team played in the annual Turkey Trot in Carthage. They went on to win the 10-U (10 and under) tournament with a team comprised of girls 8 and under.

The Texas Titans ran through the competition. They would dominate pool play, beating both teams by a combined score of 26-0. After not allowing a run in pool play, the Texas Titans would come into bracket play as the #1 seed. The only 8-U team, competing against girls 2 years older, were running through the competition.

It wasn’t until the first elimination game that they would allow a run. Beating Texas Strike Force by a score of 9-1, the Titans moved on to the semifinals. They would beat a team known as Synergy by a score of 7-4 to move on to the championship game.

This game was against a 10-U team out of Carthage called Kaos (Chaos) and would prove to be the first challenge the Titans faced all day. Despite being of significantly younger age, the Titans were able to squeak out a win, beating Kaos by a score of 3-2.

Congratulations to the Texas Titans and their first place finish.
