Mt. Vernon defeats Chapel Hill on Senior Night; Lady Devils finish third in district
This past Friday was Senior Night for the Chapel Hill volleyball team. Chapel Hill started their senior night on fire, taking it to Mt. Vernon, which came into the game as the only undefeated district team.
Chapel Hill took the first game 25-23 and was playing well. In game two, Mt. Vernon rallied back with a 17-25 win.
In game three nothing was going the way of the Lady Devils and they lost the game, 10-25.
Facing elimination in game four, for the match, the Lady Devils came out with all guns firing. Game four went back and forth with many lead changes. The crowds for both teams were cheering hard at 20-20.
The game ultimately went the way of Mt. Vernon as they won 25-21 to win the match.
Mt Vernon finished the district season in first with Prairiland second, Chapel Hill third and Chisum fourth. Chapel Hill is looking at matching up with either New Boston or Redwater, both of which have games next Tuesday to determine their district finish. The playoff game will either be on Monday, Oct. 30 or Tuesday, Oct. 31.
The Lady Devils finish their regular season 17-19 heading to the playoffs. The JV team went 5-11 and the freshman team, 1-6.
