Martinez caps successful season at state XC meet

Jasmin Martinez competed in her final high school cross country meet over the weekend, running in the UIL State Cross Country Championships this past Saturday and placing 69th in a field of 150 runners.

Martinez ran a 19:44, which was three seconds faster than her time at the recent Regional meet.

Martinez consistently got better when it mattered most. The UIL State Cross Country Championships were held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Coach Bryan Trickey had this to say after the race: “I’m very proud of her accomplishment. She really worked hard over the past two years to work toward this goal, and it has paid off.”

Overall it was a great season for the Mount Pleasant High School Cross Country Team, as they brought home the district championship and qualified a runner to state.

Improves on time at recent regional contest by three seconds
