Lady Tigers fall to old rival Longview
School is out for the Thanksgiving break, and teachers and students alike are looking for a reprieve from the daily hustle of school life — but not for the Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers Basketball team. They spent the week practicing and preparing for their game played on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
This past Tuesday, the Lady Tigers took on their old district rivals the Longview Lobos.
In what would be a fast-paced match, up and down the court, the Tigers would find themselves a few steps behind. The Lady Tigers would end up losing by a score of 68-46.
It was a close match for three quarters as the Lady Tigers kept fighting hard to keep it close. The Lady Lobos were a very athletic group — having speed all over the floor, they were able to outpace the Tigers in the fourth quarter. It was another tough loss for the lady Tigers as they continue to play tough pre-district opponents to get themselves prepared to make a playoff run.
The Lady Tigers will continue their preparation for district play with a game in Paris on Nov. 28. The Lady Tigers next home game is not until Jan. 2 against Pine Tree. That will be the kick-off for district play.
Come out and watch the Lady Tigers push for their next district championship.
