Wilbur Easley, Jr.
Wilbur Easley, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away on December 1, 2017 in Mt. Pleasant. He was born on August 18, 1927 in Cookville, Texas to Wilber Allen Easley, Sr. & Pearl (Harvey) Easley.
Wilbur was retired as a locomotive engineer after 30 years of service, he was the music director, Sunday school teacher and an ordained deacon with his church in Arizona. Wilbur’s love of music led him to be a piano tuner and he tuned many pianos in Mt. Pleasant and the surrounding area. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Louise Easley of Mt. Pleasant, TX; son, Kenneth Easley of South Dakota; son, Doyce Easley of South Dakota; daughter, Sylvia Stogner of Mt. Pleasant, TX; grandchildren, Stanley Brian Easley, Dena Laurel, Andrew Stogner, Karissa Stanley; great grandchildren, Kenley Stanley, Katie Stanley, Kaydence Easley, Bryan Easley, Nathan Laurel, Brandon Laurel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers & sisters, Leaner Counts, Irene Deaton, Son Easley, Bill Easley, Ruth Wright, Edith Andrews & James Easley.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery.
