Sherry Lynn Watts
Sherry Lynn Watts of Mt. Pleasant, Texas passed away on August 6, 2018 at her home.
Sherry lived a life of love and devotion for her family and friends. She was married to her lifelong love, Robbie Watts, for over 50 years. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with friends, all of her grandkids and traveling.
Sherry taught first grade at Annie Sims Elementary in Mt. Pleasant for many years before retiring from a career in education.
She was born on February 4, 1949 in Conway, Arkansas to Norman and Paula (Rasor) Smith and moved to Texas for good in 1974. She was a graduate of Texas A&M Commerce.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Robbie; daughter, Angie Conway and husband Brandon of McKinney; son Bryan Watts and wife Krista of Littleton, Colorado; mother, Paula Smith of Clinton, Arkansas; brother Dave Smith and spouse Kathleen of Bee Branch, Arkansas; sister in-law, Claudette Pennington of Clinton, Arkansas; and Shirley Carlisle and spouse Roger of Ratcliff, Arkansas; five grandchildren who called her Mimi, Caroline Gustafson, Ethan Gustafson, Colton Watts, Kendall Watts, and Colby Watts, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Texas Oncology Cancer Center for the care of Sherry in the last 12 months.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at the St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sherry’s memory to: Cypress Basin Hospice, Mt. Pleasant, TX or the Research Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
