Buck Holley Irwin, Jr. was born in Dothan, Alabama on September 10, 1966 to Buck Holley Irwin, Sr. and Mary Irwin. Buck passed away on October 13, 2020 in Dallas Texas.
Buck moved to southeast Oklahoma in 1971, spending his childhood and ado-lescent years there. Attended elementary, junior high and high school at Valliant, Oklahoma where he was a football standout. He graduated high school in 1984 and attended college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he played football for the Savages where he lettered. After a year at Southeastern, he transferred to Central State University (which later became University of Central Oklahoma) in Edmond, Ok and continued his football career as a three-year starter for the Central State University Bronchos.
Buck graduated in 1988 from UCO with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Industrial Safety. He later went on to receive the prestigious Certified Safety Professional designation.
On June 30, 1989, Buck married his wife Stacy Beller, with whom he had three children, Bronson, Brooke and Hope. Buck remained married to Stacy for the remainder of his life, and their union was admired by all who knew them.
Throughout his life Buck was involved with several charitable and leadership organizations such as CASA, Leadership Oklahoma City, Mustang High School Touchdown Club President, the Oklahoma City Planning Commission, and the Jim Thorpe Award Committee. Buck also taught Sunday school at multiple Baptist churches and was the coach of many little league teams. Buck was an outstanding husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
A celebration of life service will be held on October 17, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant Texas at 2pm. In lieu of flowers his family would like donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www. stjude.org.
