Donald Rex Wilson
Donald Rex Wilson 80, of Five Point, Alabama passed away on March 5, 2019.
Rex was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas on Nov. 21, 1938.
He attended Mount Pleasant schools. After High School he joined the U.S. Marine Corps.
Later he continued his education and graduated from Texarkana Junior College where he was named an All American Football Player. He then received a full football scholarship from the University of Miami, Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education.
Rex loved his family, antiques, football, and fishing. His favorite pastime was playing 42 with his family, (great 42 player), and last, but not least, riding his motorcycle.
He will be remembered by his loved ones for his constant good humor, smile and laughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; Wallace and Louise Hayden Wilson of Mount Pleasant. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Alicia and Lane Hegwood; two granddaughters - Lauren, Bethany, and one great grandchild - Hudson; of Auburn, AL.
One Sister and Brother-in-law Wanda and Melvin Shumate of Emory, TX; one Brother and Sister-in-law Jim and Patty Wilson of Graham, AL; 2 nieces - Belinda Joyner, Tonya Buck of Mount Pleasant. Numerous cousins and one very special cousin - Delores Daniels Walker.
Internment will be in Mount Pleasant Forest Lawn Cemetery. The time and date will be determined at a later time.
