Bobby Glynn Presley
Bobby Glynn Presley, 84, went peacefully to his eternal home with the Lord on Nov. 27, 2019, in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
Bob was born in Morris County, Texas, on April 15, 1935, to loving parents Porter and Mary Presley of Naples, and he was the oldest of three children. Bob graduated from Paul H. Pewitt High School in 1953 and then attended Texas A&M University and East Texas State University. He proudly served as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard for nine years.
In 1956, he met Sue Pynes and they married on December 17, 1960. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Rhonda Sue Presley McKinney and Brady Glynn Presley. Bob lived in Mount Pleasant for 58 years and was employed by American Petrofina and Texas Utilities Mining Company.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant for 55 years. He enjoyed being a member of the “Friends in Christ” Sunday School class. He loved hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden.
Bob was an incredible husband, father, and grandfather and left a legacy of loving Jesus and loving his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sue Presley; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Doug McKinney; son and daughter-in-law, Brady and Jennifer Presley; grandchildren, Elyse McKinney, Reese and Victoria McKinney, Andrea Presley, Robyn Presley, Heather Presley, and Kamryn Presley; sister, Portia and Charles Gordon; uncle and aunt, J. Mack and Ann Presley and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Mary Presley, his brother, Gerald Presley, sister-inlaw, Annette Presley, and nephew, Jody Presley.
A celebration of his life was held at First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant on December 1, 2019, at 2:00 pm, under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home.
