Alvin "Scooter" Parish, Jr

Alvin “Scooter” Parish, Jr.; a life-time rancher; went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Whitney Parish; three children, Staci Hinton and husband Phillip; Chad Parish and wife Eliza; Tiffany Mabe and husband David; eight grandchildren, Heath Hinton and wife Trista, Lacie Cameron and husband Ben, Callie and Cade Easley, Sarah, Jake, Weston, and Henry Parish; and four great grandchildren, Abbi and Maddox Hinton, and Lilly and Conner Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Sarah Parish.

Scooter was born on March 9, 1945 in Deport, Texas and was raised and resided on the family ranch in Sugarhill until his death. He was a member of Harris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. A cowboy until the end, Scooter continued to ride horses and work cattle until he was diagnosed with cancer. Scooter loved his family and would often be heard saying, “We raise kids and cows on 3P Ranch!”.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Coopers Chapel Cemetery. A visitation was held Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home.
