Jerry Thomas Scott of Mt. Vernon, Texas entered eternal rest on January 27, 2024. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Texas on June 6, 1940. Tomwasanonlychild. JerryThomas,known lovingly as Tom, grew up in Mt. Vernon and graduated Mt. Vernon High School in 1958. Tom had several jobs during his life. He ran a highly successful restaurant in Texarkana and had bulldozer/dirt work business in the Mt.Vernon area. In his later years, he worked locally for Brooksey Crow managing a rock yard.

Jackolyn “Jackie” Pope Smith passed away on March 24, 2024, after a long illness with daughter, Shannon DaMoude, and family by her side. Jackie’s birth, October 27, 1943, and passing are merely punctuation marks from a life lived in the service of others with fun, friends, family, and food. She loved the Lord through her love of people. Jackie was simply the party itself. She is survived by her husband, James Smith, daughter, Shannon Smith DaMoude, son-in-law, Jeff DaMoude, grandchildren, Luke and Catherine DaMoude, sister, Jeanetta Pope Payne, brother, Dr. Bill Pope, sister-in-law, Carla Smith, and loving nieces and nephew. A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas, on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 12:00 PM.

Freeman and Glynn Bankhead Freeman. She was a 1974 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and was a proud 1978 graduate of Baylor University.
