MPHS NHS members attend Leadership Conference

The Mount Pleasant High School chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) attended a Leadership Conference in the MPHS auditorium on November 4. NHS members listened to guest speakers about community service, financial responsibility, character, life-long learning, leadership, and civic responsibility.

Over 1,000 Texans sign petition to stop Marvin Nichols

More than 1,000 Texans have signed a petition condemning the proposed Marvin Nichols Reservoir. This is a major milestone for Preserve Northeast Texas, a growing group of landowners, business owners, community leaders, conservationists, and local elected officials who have banded together to voice their opposition to one of the biggest transfers of private land to public in modern history. Boots & Bells festivities continue this weekend

The City of Mount Pleasant Boots & Bells Free Concert Series with Cowboy Santa and horse-drawn carriage rides continues downtown this Saturday, Nov. 20, with the Project 2 Band – an eight-piece performance group playing all of the great music of the ‘80s.
