Arrests There are 149 inmates in jail with 127 males and 22 females. Since 03/16/2022 the following have been booked into the jail: • Darrius Burks, 34 of Memphis, TN., was arrested on warrants for Evading Arrest, and Unauthorized Use of Vehicle.

Pewitt CISD Board approves move to four-day school week

On Thursday, the Pewitt Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees met for their regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the school’s library. Action item 9.I on the agenda was the discussion and possible approval of the transition to a four-day school week, beginning the next academic year.
