Focus will be on innovation as local business leaders gather
The guest speaker at this week’s local State of the Economy event at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center provides training and consulting services to businesses across five continents, and well as speaking frequently on innovation and leadership, among other topics.
Dr. Jeff Standridge will address local business leaders during “State of the Economy—Exploring Entrepreneurship and Innovation” on Oct. 27 at the civic center.
According to bio information provided by the Mount Pleasant-Titus County Chamber of Commerce, Standridge “helps organizations and their leaders generate sustained results in the areas of innovation, strategy, profit growth, organizational effectiveness and leadership.” He’s a former vice president of Acxiom Corporation, and has led startup and established enterprises in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, as well as North and South America.
According to his bio, Standridge teaches in the College of Business at the University of Central Arkansas, is chief catalyst for The Conductor — which promotes economic development in central Arkansas — and is co-founder of Cadron Capital Partners.
Chamber President and CEO Katie Stedman said Standridge’s focus is in keeping with the character of the local business community.
“Every year, this event allows us the opportunity to hear from experts in various fields that have a direct impact on the local economy,” Stedman said. “This year’s speaker is focused on the impact that entrepreneurship and innovation has on a community from both an economic and job-creation perspective.
“We are a community of innovators, and our goal is to continue to create an environment that both welcomes and encourages innovation and out-ofthe-box thinking, and that attracts new industry.”
