Christmas parade offers bright lights for ‘A Season of Hope’
Experience the wonder of Christmas and be a part of one of Northeast Texas’ largest Christmas Parades with the City of Mount Pleasant and Rotary Club’s 26th Annual Christmas Parade, Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m.
Companies, organizations, clubs, individuals and families are invited to be a part of this lighted parade. Floats are always encouraged — bring out your Christmas spirit and decorate your car, truck, float or even yourself. This year’s theme is ‘A Season of Hope’.
“We are set to have one of the biggest and best parades ever,” Amy Hinton, Rotary parade chairman, said. “Participants do an outstanding job on their floats and spectators will enjoy lighted floats, marching bands, equestrian entries, boats, dancers and of course Santa Claus.”
Prizes are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place floats as well as for vehicles.
“The parade has always been a gift to the community and not a fundraiser,” Hinton said. “Any monies made go back into the parade. It’s Rotary’s way of putting service above self.
“We want to thank the MPPD for helping with traffic and safety. Parade organizers always have safety as our ... priority, along with a great parade.”
To participate in the Mount Pleasant Christmas Parade, stop by the Mount Pleasant Civic Center to sign up or download the entry form at www.mprotaryclub. org — or contact Hinton at 903-575-4190 or email@example.com.
The application deadline is Nov. 27.
