Casino Night fundraiser postponed until March 3

The annual Casino Night fundraiser benefiting the Titus County Shelter Friends, originally set for Sept. 16 has been rescheduled for March 3, event backers said last week.

The additional time was needed for organizational purposes, and also to allow for additional ticket sales, which had been slower than anticipated in the lead-up to the event.

It’s thought that the volume of donations currently being made to assist Hurricane Harvey victims could have impacted the ability of some to participate in the giving.

Sponsorship support for the event has been strong, organizers reported.

A posting on the group’s Facebook page earlier this week noted, “To those of you who have bought a ticket please hold that ticket until March 3 and we will honor that ticket. To all of our sponsors we appreciate your generosity and we want to make this event great for you as well. Everyone go ahead and mark your calendars and pick out your outfit for a great night of fun in March!”

A venue for the rescheduled event has yet to be determined.

Those wishing to support the Titus County Shelter friends can, in the meantime, give to the group by following the “donate” link on its Facebook page, which can be found at
