April 18, 1940 - April 20, 2024

Patricia Faye Freeman, affectionately known as “Pat”, 84, of Cookville, Texas peacefully passed from this earthly life to her Heavenly home on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 18, 1940 to Jesse Roy Carpenter and Frances (Dyar) Carpenter.

Pat was a Christian and long-time faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. She loved and enjoyed her church family and attending services until her health declined and kept her from doing so. She was a great cook, known for her chicken & dressing and other delicious treats at the church’s “meet & eat” luncheons after services. She was a homemaker, first and foremost, but worked alongside her husband in different businesses they owned. Pat was also a wellknown seamstress and was admired for her talents in creating beautiful quilts. She was instrumental in making sure family reunions were a regular event and was the glue that held her family together. She also enjoyed going out on the water in the boat with the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was attending church with her great-grandson, Gunnar. Pat was a loving and kind lady with a wonderful spirit and will be forever missed by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

In addition to her parents, Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Albert V. Freeman; sons: Kevin Freeman, Jeff Alexander, John (Butch) Alexander, and Albert V. Freeman, Jr.; sisters: Dorothy Carpenter-Epps and Wanda Carpenter; brothers: Sonny Carpenter, Dale Carpenter, Jerry Carpenter, and Kerry Carpenter; and great-granddaughter, Jacksyn Rubee Webber.

Left to cherish Pat’s memory and legacy is her loving family: daughters: Sharon Grimes (John), Joanna Freeman, and Sandy Dunson; son, Russell Freeman; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Beverly Carpenter; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Bates-Cooper- Sloan Chapel with a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
